Set Sail on Your Next Real Estate Journey with Talia Freedman
In the spotlight for Lesbian Earth’s March edition is none other than Talia Freedman, the esteemed owner and qualifying broker of Talia Freedman & Co. since 2017. Talia’s journey to Albuquerque dates back to 1996 when she arrived on an exchange program from Hunter College in New York City. Fast forward to the present, and Talia now resides on three acres of land nestled in the serene East Mountains of Albuquerque.
Reflecting on her past experiences with renting, Talia recalls growing up in a rental where painting walls anything but white raised the insecurity inherent in renting. For Talia, home ownership symbolizes the pinnacle of success; this goal is juxtaposed with that of family members still residing in the apartment where she herself grew up. That offers a kind of stability but lacks any ability to build wealth in only the way home ownership can.
Although you can you take the girl out of the city, she is still a “City Girl” at heart, and often walks (and drives) the streets of Downtown Albuquerque taking in her dose of concrete and steel.
Beyond her role in real estate, Talia has emerged as a model of support within the LGBTQ+ and broader communities of Greater Albuquerque. With diversity as a cornerstone value, Talia emphasizes the importance of matching clients with brokers who will be able to give them a sense of comfort and understanding through the often daunting process of home-buying.
In her candid conversation with this reporter, Talia sheds light on the multifaceted role of REALTORS, who sometimes have to take on the role of therapist and confidant for clients as they explore the intricate personal and emotional dynamics inherent in home ownership.
Talia approaches her work with empathy and insight, recognizing the profound social, economic, and historical factors that shape her clients’ experiences.
Balancing her professional pursuits and community action with a steadfast commitment to family, Talia has spent the last decade dedicated herself to caring for her elderly parents.
As a lifelong learner, Talia’s thirst for knowledge knows no bounds, evidenced by her current enrollment in a challenging two-year certificate program in financial planning. With a keen understanding of market forces, the economy, and taxes, Talia is a trusted resource within our community, generously sharing her expertise with those eager to learn.
In recognition of her stellar contributions, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Talia Freedman. Thank you for your tireless advocacy and commitment to making a difference in our community.
