New Mexico General Election 2026
Election Day: Tuesday, November 3, 2026
Polls open at 7 a.m. Polls close at 7 p.m.
Early Voting: Early voting begins October 6 at county clerks’ offices. Additional early-voting locations open October 17. Early voting ends October 31.
Not registered yet? New Mexico offers same-day voter registration during early voting and on Election Day at eligible locations. Identification is required when using same-day registration.
Voting by mail: Any registered New Mexico voter may request an absentee ballot — no excuse is required. Absentee ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. If mailing your ballot, send it back early enough to arrive on time.
Do I need ID to vote? Most registered New Mexico voters do not need to show identification simply to vote. There are exceptions, including certain first-time voters who registered by mail without providing identification.
See what’s on your ballot: Your ballot depends on where you live. Use New Mexico’s official voter portal to check your registration, view your sample ballot, find voting locations, request or track an absentee ballot and find your county clerk.
