Here’s the scariest part: the military leadership Trump once clashed with—the people who told him “no” when he wanted to shoot protestors in 2020—are mostly gone. In their place? Loyalists. Cronies. Opportunists. People who owe their careers to Trump, not to the Constitution. People willing to send masked agents into liberal cities, detain civilians, and even transport some to El Salvador under a 200-year-old law designed to fend off the French navy.

We’re Lesbian and Queer Women. We’ve lived through fear before. But this? This is something we have to name out loud. This is about whether we get to vote, whether our votes are counted, and whether the government we live under is chosen by the people—or imposed by one man.

Because if voters get a fair shot in 2026, he might lose the House, face investigations, and finally be held accountable. So he’s testing the waters. How far can he go? Who will stop him?
